Public offices, transport hubs and places of worship follow their own schedules: town halls and Bürgerämter open on weekdays, often only in the morning on some days, and most now require an appointment booked online. Bring your passport or ID card and the completed form for almost any procedure; residence permits are handled by the Ausländerbehörde and taxes by the Finanzamt. Deutsche Post counters and DHL Packstations handle letters and parcels.

Opening hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 7 am–7:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file.

Its Google rating stands at 2.4 out of 5 from 24 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.

Bamberg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in Bamberg, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.
