Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.
Opening hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–11 pm. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 5446117. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is paulaner-brauhaus.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 1,921 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded biergärten & brauhäuser in München.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We had a wonderful experience at Brauhaus am Kapuzinerplatz. The atmosphere was warm, lively, and authentically Bavarian. The food was delicious and generous, the beer was excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy Munich’s traditional food and beer culture. Definitely worth a visit—we would happily return!

A great traditional Bavarian brewery with a warm and authentic atmosphere. The beer was excellent, the food was fresh and flavorful, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and the overall experience felt more relaxed and local compared to the very touristy places in the city center. Definitely a place worth visiting in Munich.

I had a Schweinsbraten, a real treat. It was excellent, and even though I arrived almost at closing time, there were no complaints or unfriendly faces. The Paulaner and the Schweinsbraten were an outstanding choice, made even better thanks to Leo’s service… a true legend.

New owner, fresh lick of paint, new staff and new menu marks the reopening of this restaurant . I can be glad that the female toilets have had a much needed refresh 🙏. So thanks for improving this experience, the basin taps could be extended to actually reach the basins (more water ends up on the bench than your hands), but maybe next reno. Service was friendly and attentive. The menu is smaller but thoughtful. Food was on point with well seasoned favourites and solid salads. The new drink menu was refreshing and the live folk band added to the ambience. Younger crowd drinking and blocking the entrance was minus points in my viewpoint. How should someone enjoy a meal if they can’t even get in the building?
