Perhaps Berlin’s best kept open secret! Hacker bakery is a humble, authentic look into baked goods from East Berlin during the DDR days. Not only are their baked goods to die for, it is a time capsule in its own right. A must visit and one of the best Berlin has to offer. Vielen Dank für die Erinnerungen, Grüße aus Schottland!

I saw the youtube doku and was very excited to try the bakery, but I was very disappointed at the cakes. They are fresh and cheap, but simply lack taste. The mohn-kuchen and eclair are not even sweet, just bland.

Very nostalgic place with a bit of DDR fleur: tiled walls and old counters. A great assortment of breads and cookies and desserts which are INSANELY HUGE! One piece of cake can easily pass as an entire one.
