For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.
Opening hours are published for 2 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11:30–15:00. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Asahi Running Sushi Restaurant on 089 20047336; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. More information is available on its website, asahi-runningsushi.de.
Customers rate it 4.3 out of 5 on Google across 1,208 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded sushi & japanisch in München.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Well this simply was not enjoyable. I read the other reviews and wonder if anyone has actually been to a really good sushi train. There are dozens in Australia, Japan, and other countries that would run rings around what is served up here. The actual Sushi offerings are limited to a few plates. Then there are dozens of other non sushi dishes. Prawn crackers? strawberrys? Strawberrys in Rice? Really, is that the best you can do? No Tuna, no scallop, little to no Nigiri, the only prawn was greasy deep fried on a skewer. At least there was plenty of soy sauce, wasabi and ginger. Not good at all.

The food is good, they are nice, but they take so long to remove the dishes from the table, so we had to do it ourselves most of the time. Price-quality relationship is good. The food was good, not much variety, but that is usual in running Sushi. The only thing I wish they had is noodles or ramen, maybe some miso soup or something of the sort. There was no baby chair and we were 5 people and a baby in a table for 4. That being said, I would definitely come back

I paid 18€ for the buffet and honestly, it’s not worth it. The salmon was almost non-existent, only in maybe 2–3 types of sushi. For someone who’s actually tried good sushi before, this was really disappointing — even for 18€, the quality just isn’t there. And seriously, look at the sushi in the picture — am I a giraffe? 😂 Even in Japan, you won’t find sushi shaped or served like that! Most of the other dishes taste below average, and you can tell they’re made to fill you up, not to taste good (like the potatoes, for example). That’s just my honest opinion as someone who goes to a lot of buffets — this one really doesn’t stand out at all.

They have some different types of sushi compared to other running sushi restaurants. I would say it is affordable for the price, but do not expect a fusion restaurant experience. It could be also better, if the variety of food was a bit wider. In addition, there are not too many tables inside, so it could be a good idea to reserve a table before.
