For anything on wheels, from a tyre change to a new vehicle, the basics apply: confirm the price up front, ask about the warranty on parts and labour, and get a receipt. Third-party insurance is compulsory, and the dealer will usually arrange the registration (Zulassung) and number plates for you. Busy periods are the tyre-change weeks in spring and autumn and the days before the summer holidays, and breakdown cover through ADAC or your insurer is worth having.

Unterföhring is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Allguth Gas Station stands out as the best gas station in the Munich metropolitan area. It offers ample space, convenient access, and competitive fuel prices compared to nearby competitors. The extensive selection of drinks and snacks at reasonable prices further enhances its appeal. However, the recent restriction on parking for car enthusiasts is disappointing. Although I do not participate in tuning, I appreciated the lively presence of car and motorcycle enthusiasts, which added a unique charm. It's a shame to see this vibrant community aspect diminish, as it was encouraging to witness young people's continued passion for vehicles. Despite this, Allguth Tankstelle remains a top choice for its overall convenience and value.

A large gas station including a bakery/deli counter. The automatic car wash is good and there's a nice vacuum/detailing area at the end of the car wash. It's often very busy here on weekends.

Big gas station with an attached drink cwntral. All kind of drinks in small format and big. As well as a small selection of everyday products for cooking and eating. A life saver during Sundays and holidays. The price of the product as well is more on the range of a supermarket than a gas station. They have as well a terrace where you can have a drink. You will have to buy it inside and bring it outside, but in summer it gets pretty busy during the nights.
