If you’re looking for authentic Italian food in Cologne, this is the place. Having spent time in Italy, I can honestly say Trattoria l’Ancora felt like one of the neighborhood restaurants you’d stumble upon there and hope to find again. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The truffle dishes were especially impressive—rich and flavorful, but perfectly balanced so the truffle enhanced the dish rather than overpowering it. The wine selection was very good and thoughtfully paired with the menu. What surprised me most was the value. The quality of the food, wine, and overall experience far exceeded the price point. What truly made the evening memorable, however, was the service. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. By the end of the meal, it felt less like dining in a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. Great food, great wine, great value, and exceptional hospitality. One of the best meals we had in Cologne and a place I would gladly return to. Highly recommended.

My husband and I ate here last night and everything was excellent! The food was outstanding, the drinks were good and the staff were extremely pleasant. If I good give a higher rating I would. I had a Mediterranean fish and my husband had Veal Saltimbocca. Unfortunately, I only took a picture of my meal. 10/10

I really enjoyed my dinner in this authentic and delicious restaurant. Food was 10/10, the environment and decoration is elegant and cozy. And cherry on top, the waiters where attentive and kind. I trully recommend.
