Super well preserved church with a really impressive 130 meter tower. Apparently the highest brick-made tower in the world!

Medieval Gothich church from 14th century. The 130m tall Tower is the highest brick tower in the world. The interior furnishing is also Gothic with high coloumns and medieval altars. Impressice Architecture. The church can be seen from every corner in the town.

St. Martin’s Church is easily one of Landshut’s defining landmarks — a towering masterpiece of Gothic architecture that dominates the skyline with the tallest brick church tower in the world, rising to about 130 meters. Visitors often describe the moment they first see it as genuinely impressive, and it’s hard not to agree once you’re standing beneath its soaring façade. Inside, the church opens into a vast, high‑vaulted space typical of High Gothic design. Even when renovations are underway — which several recent visitors have noted — the interior still conveys a sense of history and quiet grandeur. Many travelers mention that it’s worth sitting for a moment, even if you’re not religious, simply to take in the atmosphere. The church also plays a lively role in local culture. One reviewer described attending Mass during the Landshuter Hochzeit festival, where medieval costumes and trumpets filled the space, adding a unique historical charm to the experience. Whether you’re drawn by architecture, history, or just the chance to see one of Bavaria’s most iconic structures, St. Martin’s Church is a highlight of any visit to Landshut. Its combination of monumental scale, intricate cr

A great goethic structure, what is interesting most about it is: the tower, which is World’s Tallest Brick Tower 130.1-meter the highest brick structure in the world without steel supports and Bavaria’s tallest church tower. Constructed entirely of brick with a copper-clad helm, it’s a stunning example of Gothic engineering, completed in 1500...this fact alone makes it worth a while to visit Landshut, in addition to the castle on the hill

This landmark has the world's highest church tower (>130m). The church is entirely made of bricks in the late Gothic architectural style. Each of the five doors is uniquely styled. Inside the church is an 8-m hanging cross created from a lime tree bark that is spectacularly suspended high up. The stained glass windows, the stone pulpit, the Orgel, the frecoes, and the Leinberger Madonna date back to the 14th to 17th centuries. Construction started in the 1380s and was completed in 1500. However, renovations continue to this day. During my visit, the spiral staircase to the underground area, and the actual tower were out of bounds. Overall, it is an impressive piece of historical and religious architecture that is worth spending an hour of your Landshut trip.

This is the landmark of Landshut, and there are less chances of anyone missing it from any part of town centre. The church is made of bricks, and 2nd tallest brick structure in the world. As with most churches in Bavaria and to most of Germany, the architecture style is Gothic. It has got a huge crucifix hanging from the roof directly above the altar. For me it was the biggest indoor cross I had seen. It's a good time to see all through year around, and gives Landshut Town Centre a definitive face. It does go without saying that visiting the church during mass is not allowed. A must see place in Landshut.

It is the church with the tallest brick tower in the entire world, it looks quite spectacular, especially in contrast to the rest of the surrounding buildings which are pretty low. On the inside there are currently some renovations done (2019.04.06), so one can’t really enjoy the inside as much.

Amazing church in neogothic style. It is huge compared to the buildings around it. It has beautiful arches on the outside and really high belfry. It has minimalistic style on the inside, so without any unnecessary kitsch you see in ordinary Catholic churches. Around church is really loveable and quiet town.
