While walking through Berlin, I randomly came across these church ruins, and they really caught my attention. This monastery was started to be built in the 13th century by the Franciscan order and was one of the most important religious buildings of medieval Berlin. After being heavily damaged during World War II, it was decided not to restore it, which was quite disappointing for me. Looking at the original photos of the church, it is clear that it was once a very beautiful and significant building. I learned that today it is used for cultural events and concerts. I wish it could be restored and brought back to its original state.

Nice park with a great tie to ancient Berlin. A nice change of pace from the obvious things Berlin is famous for.

Ruins of a medieval church bombed during 1945 by Allies. A piece of history to be remembered.

This was once a Medieval monastery and as such was the oldest building in Berlin until it was bombed by the Allies during WW2. Today it is used for art displays. Interesting and worth a visit if you have time or are in the area.

Nicely preserved ruins, but it was closed so only was able to check it from outside. Seems like it is looked after well and hosts events. You can find several sculptures next to it. Nice to check it at least once.
