A great place to enjoy a beautiful mix of nature, river, and city.

A very pleasant and relaxing place in Cologne that is definitely worth visiting, especially if you want to take a break from the busy city center. Rheinpark gives you open space, greenery, walking paths, river views, and a beautiful view toward the Cologne skyline. What I especially liked is the calm atmosphere near the Rhine. You can walk slowly, sit for a while, enjoy the view of the cathedral from the other side of the river, and see Cologne from a more open and peaceful perspective. It feels very different from the narrow streets and crowded tourist areas. The park is also good for families, couples, photographers, and anyone who simply wants a quiet walk. It is not only a green space, but also a place connected with the city’s post-war history and urban renewal, which makes it more meaningful. I would also like to mention that I found this place with the help of the Penguindor app — the “penguin” that helps you discover interesting places nearby. Thanks to it, I discovered a calm and scenic place that shows Cologne from a softer and more relaxed side. Overall, Rheinpark is a very good place to add to a Cologne route. Beautiful park and a lovely place to unwind, especially with kids. There’s plenty of open space for them to run around freely, and the views along the Rhine are very calm and relaxing. The tulips and greenery make it feel really peaceful and well worth a visit. However, facilities could be improved. There were no proper toilets available, only a mobile public toilet near the play area which was extremely dirty. Overall, a beautiful park for relaxing and enjoying nature, but better toilet facilities would make a big difference.
