Goldener Anker has by far the best restaurant in Bayreuth and the surrounding area. If you want elevated cuisine with excellent service in a beautiful historic dining room, then head to the Goldener Anker. The food is delicious, the place settings are proper, the wine service is knowledgeable and the list impressive from a cellar deep under the hotel. Recent prix fixe dinners offered fresh pintade (Guinea fowl), trout, veal and quail courses followed by a selection of cheeses and dessert. All supported by warm and friendly service led by the gracious host Eva Graf. What enjoyable evenings we had. Bravo !

It was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had in recent years. It is an absolutely stunning hotel, full of history that can be felt in every single room. The staff are incredibly kind, the breakfast is simply wonderful, with excellent, top-quality products, and they always try to fulfill any request whenever possible. A special mention goes to the owner, Mrs. Eva, who is a truly wonderful woman, with a kindness that is so rare to find nowadays. I truly hope to return soon to this place, which made me feel at home and gave me so many emotions.
