Museum of Archaological foundings in the area, divided between multiple time zones and the bavarian origin. in Christmas theres a special Krippe Exhibition.

Great museum with several artifacts telling about the local history with a great level of detail. The only minus point is that most of the information is presented only in German. The cultural treasure well guarded here deserves at least some brief notes in English. Also, beware that you can only pay with cash.

I went in October of 2021. Straubing is seemed pretty cool but I didn't stay long. I was on a mission to see this museum. It did not disappoint! The Roman stuff just blew me away. It was well worth my day trip. Don't forget to go to the Amt für Tourismus Straubing which is right around the corner from the museum. There you can get your city coat of arms pin for your hat and other souvenirs and guides.

Lovely place to visit ,you can easily spend 2 hours or more here. Well worth it to visit and get the background of this area.

Nice little museum showcasing the history of the area. Interesting roman artefacts, I’ve never need masks like these. The downside is that they have no information in English.
